| چکیده : | This novel by Thomas Phillips, is the story of a young boy, by the author of The Bitterweed Path which is dated during the depression years and set in the town of Old Shiloh where unconventional Walter Lloyd, his God-fearing wife Savanna and their adolescent son, Foster, live. Her ambivalence sends Walter to another woman, Foster to his father and to himself, and Savanna to an empty life. On the fringe there is the story of Foster's friend, Kirby, a Negro, who is killed in a half-white, half-Negro football game and adds to the tragedy.
